i think i have been overfeeding some of my bettas some of them seem kind of lethargic hang out at the surface of their bowl when flaring with other males they do become quite aggressive and active any advice would be apprciated

thank you for your thoughtful words i guess what i was looking for was how long it would take for my fish to feel better that is it that was the problem ive had bettas off and on for 40 yrs. just 1st time ive had this happen

When I used to sell Bettas I always told the buyers that they eat only an amount of food the size of their eye, every day. Laughing

in my opinion its better if you have clean water then feeding them so much plus you save money on food

ive cut back on the amount of bloodworms im feeding my bettas now and there alot more alert and healty acting now thanks

I always found that Bettas gorged on bloodworms and blackworms. Great for conditioning for spawning but not so good for general maintenance.
