i wanted to start a MN guppy group.
please let me know if there is any interests and please do spread the word.
you would have to join IFGA.ORG to become a member of the club.
our MN guppy starter group if it should happen would be the local chapter of IFGA.

leave comments and inquiries here....

I am a member of IFGA and just attend their Roseville meeting last weekend at the Michigan Guppy Club. I went with Linda, who is another guppy fanatic. We're planning to attend the Chicago meeting in July as well.

We've spoken about starting a local guppy club, but see no advantage to having the group sanctioned under IFGA. We don't have enough enthusiasts to do the kind of fish competition that IFGA requires.

Real tough to take pictures of little fish that move fast, with every part of the body moving all the time. Try this from a couple of months ago.

just got back into guppies. i'm working on moscow panda's at the moment and in the delta class i'm working on purples.
would like to mess with more, but these two families should keep me busy for quite some time.

what colors and tail shapes is everybody working on?

I would be happy to just have a guppy club to share and learn or more local shows to enter in. The MAS show was fun and it was the first one that I attended and I didn't have any stock ready to enter at the time, but it would be nice to have more shows to get ready for. especially with guppies where the prime showing age window isn't very long.
I thought about starting a club myself.
I'm a web developer and build and maintain websites and forums. If there is enough interest, I can build something to get a group going. Although this forum had a huge following of great people and I'm not sure if there are enough local guppy people to warrant it.

I only have blue green moscows right now (two lines) and I'm thinking about buying some ATFG superior HTD reds.

i think there are enough people in the cities who are interested in guppys, we just have to ask around.
there's already 4 of us who replied to this post. all we need are about 10 people and i think we can get
a club going. be nice to be official and join IFGA.org, but if not we can always just do a simple local
gathering which would be great !!!! be nice to get together and just show off a couple of our super
males and pick each other's brains. :)

Please join International Fancy Guppy Association on Facebook if you haven't already. It's a good starting point.

I can take a stab at putting something together it and lets see how many sign up. I'm an IFGA member but I have never shown any of my fish.. When I thought about starting this last, I had contacted FAAS to find out about getting officially formed and recognized as a club. If we get enough members, there is a process that we would have to go through (EIN, articles, charter, board etc) but only if it gets bigger that just a social group.

I'll dig through all of that stuff and post some updates.

Any thoughts about a name?

I only ask because I think that the best way to get it started is with a website and for that, we need a domain name. I had purchased one in hopes of getting a club going, so I'll just use that for now.

mfgc,org (Minnesota Fancy Guppy Club)

I'll just work with that and build a site / forum and we can all contribute ideas once the shell is done.

thanks!
