Thinking of making a 29g into an Endler breeding tank just filled with endless java moss or guppy grass.

how popular are these fish? How much do they fetch on MFK or aquabid? I don't see how they would fetch much since they breed so easily...?

Im sure it depends on the qualty and design of them...

Excellent strains can command decent prices. Don't expect any petstore quality/guppy mixes to be worth a lick though.

Refer to this guy's site to see what I mean by excellent strains.

Which is more profitable/popular endlers or guppies... I enjoy breeding and it would be nice to make a little when I unload once tank is full.
I plan on getting a either some designer endlers or designer guppys!

designer guppys seem to go from $3-12 depending on type

endlers - ?

Guppies are members of Poeciliidae family. First guppy was Poecilia reticulata. Later Endlers were discovered and thought to be a location morph of Poecilia reticulata but ultimately Endlers were assigned to their own species Poecilia wingei. Both Poecilia wingei and Poecilia reticulata are guppies.

Both P. reticulata and wingei have been modified via line breeding and hybridization into a designer fish. Those that created new fish from P. wingei seem to use Endlers as a trade name that includes both the true species and all the designer fish as well. Therefore it is difficult to say exactly what is being offered when fish are sold as Endlers. Designer guppies usually are much easier to determine because an exotic name is added to guppy, like snakeskin etc.

Prices fluctuate depending upon supply and demand. If one could reliably predict supply and demand for any commidity that would make one rich. The problem is no one can reliably predict the future.

In case you haven't found it yet, there's a forum that might have good sources for pure strains.

Earth to Soup, Earth to Soup

You live in MN, every one here is cheap. No one gets rich selling fish.

Lol this I know, I still get a thrill out of making a buck and I enjoy raising fish. I think everyone here can agree its nice to recoup money spent in the hobby and like we all know we put right back into the hobby (I just redid my entire fish room)....
