I like 'em. Hope to get them to spawn. They are very good parents.

Very cool fish. They remind me of a mini peacock bass. How are they about leaving the plants alone?

So far, so good with the plants. The real problem with the larger jewels is to get them to leave their tank mates alone. Within three days of their arrival they had killed or eaten everything in the tank except for three Barbatus sceromystax and a krib that could fit into a hole they could not. This was not unexpected because I have kept H. elongatus previously. Now they have four large rose lines and four clown barbs to attempt to catch in their regular search and destroy missions.

Thanks. I am going to embark a regimen of large scale water changes to coincide with the next low pressure system and see what happens.

We can probably arrange that Tom. I am moving all my tanks from one side of the basement to the other. As soon as I am done with that you are more than welcome to come on by and have a look see.
