Has anyone ever used a rubbermaid container for a sump. Filter Sock, Skimmer and Return pump.

I've seen several used for that purpose and they work quite nicely, just make sure you use a heavy duty one.

Contemplating doing this with my brothers tank. Should work out fine provided the tub is strong enough.

I used them to mix water and they work great. For long run, I rather get a tank instead, when you are filling it, it tends to bow out and that freaks me a little.

If you buy a plastic container to hold water like a rubbermaid, make sure it is round and thick enough sidewall.
