Just picked up some Trout cichlids the other day and they love the pellets is give them, but they seem to eat a ton, What are your opinions on feeding live minnows/Rosies? do you think they would eat them and is there a chance of disease of fed minnows?

There is always a chance of disease transfer, whenever introducing a new fish to an established tank. If you intend to feed live fish, it's best to establish a breeding tank, so you have a stable healthy environment where you know the feeders are disease free, and fed good foods.

minnows do best in the cold, throw them in a 5 gal bucket with an air stone and toss bucket in your garage, they will last for weeks if not longer (dont need food and dont need light). i think youd have more chance of disease feeding rosies. id stick with crappie minnows plus they should be cheaper.

Trouts will take minnow. Never allow more than one minnow to each trout as they may attempt to stuff many minnows in at one time. This can prevent water movement past gills and fish dies.
Also, it is not natural for fish to gorge on any food.
