The sore seems internal. The fish is acting/eating normal.

Any idea what this is? Cysts or tumor maybe? Treatment advice?

Potassium permanganate to kill external orgs
Antibiotics to kill internal orgs
Tumor- euthanize now

Thanks as always Bob for your input.

Of course I'm not prepared - no medications. The Petsmart by me has general API and Tetra meds so I will look there tonight for potassium permanganate.

I can move her to an empty 10 gallon with a cycled filter and add salt at 2 tablespoons per 10 gallons of water until I find meds around here. I'd hate to lose her as she is one of the nicer labs in the tank.

Salt start with 1 tsp per gallon. Increase to 1 tbsp or gallon.
It looks incurable to me.
Like a complete unknown
