Have read about this lip growth online. It is thought to be result from a retrovirus infection. No virus found in fibroma, but a C type protein was found inside fibroma. C type proteins are produced by retrovirus.
Other viral disease in fish with evidence of retrovirus type infection resolve spontaneously. There are no reports of lip fibroma resolving spontaneously.

Often primitive teeth have grown in the fibroma. Fish health websites report angelfish owners remove lip fibroma surgically, usually at home.
