I have been having issues with ick in my african tank. I talked to some of you at the meeting on Thu. It was agreed that I need to discard my plants and clean the gravel. I decided to clean out the FX6 also because it was not moving much water. I found some sort of micro-organism growing on the baskets of my filter. Here are pics. Regular and under the microscope. Anyone know what it is?

No idea what micro org you found.
If you are sure the fish have Ick, then treat with Rid Ick or similar product Also increase temp to low 80s range. After killing ick then investigate other issue

I took a page out of the DNR invasive species book and hit everything with 150 degree water. Everything was in the water for a good 5 minutes. I figure that there is a pretty good chance that whatever it is, it is visiting the devil now.
