Hello,

My 100gal tank has not been doing well lately as I did not do my weekly water changes as much during this winter. A couple cichlids developed cloud eye and a patch of white on his body and besides doing regular water changes again, should I medicate the tank? I used the Marine Land (All-in-One Remedy) in the past in smaller tanks but I will need 3-4 bottles and maybe expensive. Does anyone have anything cheaper that might work as well? I feel like i should treat the whole tank.

Thanks,

Stve

Based on current information, I would not treat. I would change 50% water every 3 days for 12 days (that equals 4 changes). Then go with at least 50% weekly.
If fish appear sicker, repost

..and get a quarantine/treatment tank for the next time this happens, so you can treat without collateral damage.

Thanks for the feedback.

I did a 50% water change last Friday. I will do another one tonight but unfortunately it was too late for the big guy as he died yesterday morning.

I have a 20gal that I use for breeding that will be available soon so that would be my dedicated hospital tank. I will try to keep up on my water changes. I change 50% every other week. Maybe I should change 50% once every week to give myself a little buffer?

Thanks,

Steve
