Due to Covid, election for Board Officers originally scheduled for May had to be postponed. Now that the ZOOM system has been fully tested, we will hold elections at the August 6 meeting. The ByLaws that governs MAS BOD activities require that we have elections in person. Obviously that's not going to work, so we'll need to amend that portion of the ByLaws as well. So the August meeting will begin with a vote on the ByLaws, then the election of BOD Officers, then the speaker. It seems a lot, but we expect that voting to change the ByLaws and new officers would take less than 15 minutes. Then we'll hear Bill Shields, a commercial breeder who worked on GloFish while at a Florida fish farm.

Details of the amendments to the ByLaws and elections are available at https://aquarium.mn/aqua-news/monthly-meetings/special-event/mas-elections. Some people have already declared their intentions to run for President and Directorships. If you want to run for office, please submit the information requested before the end of July. We will close the nomination period then so members can make their decisions in the first week of August.

There's just one week left to put submit your name to run for a position on the MAS Board, https://aquarium.mn/. We'll be voting at the regular August meeting.

Even if you don't plan to run, make sure you're a member in good standing. Just log in at the site and confirm your status. We've got virtual speakers lined up for the next six months. A BAP meeting is planned for next week. And the August mini-auction is on schedule.

Participation is limited to members, so don't miss out. What else are you doing! :D
