Almost everytime I try to send a PM I get the following message:

Couldn't get mail server response codes

DEBUG MODE

Line : 117

I am having to type messages 3 or 4 times to get them to go through, anyone else having this problem? Also, I am never logged in anymore when I go to this website, even though I click log me in automatically every time. I never used to have these problems.

If anyone has PM me and got no response, this is probably the reason, i wrote back, the message just didnt go through.

I am getting them as well. I hope that it gets fixed, cause I don't think it is a personal thing. Don't know anything about the log in, other than maybe if you have recently changed any of your security programs, and the scans they are/might be doing are removing the cookies that keep you logged in. Just a thought.

What it's saying is that it can not connect to the email server to send email notification of a new PM. The PM gets "sent" since it's really doing nothing more than posting to the database like other messages are. If you notice, you won't get email notifications right now for new PM's. At least not when the person gets that error.

Also you'll get it when someone has email notifications turned on for a thread. The smtp (simple mail transport protocol) server is what's screwing it up.

True that. I've been getting multiple copies from some other people-- that would explain why they resent trying to correct the problem. ;)

PM's are sent but email notifications are not, throwing up the red flag. Who's the website person here, anyways? I've got 10 years professional experience in web development so I'd happily donate time to help out here or for MAS site if needed.

Yep happened to me last night, I sent 3 copies to the same person.

Edit: I just got it again when I posted this message, but the message posted anyway.

These blips in the server happen ocassionally. We've gone through periods of this happening before, and it's always just a temporary thing. More often than not, the PM is sent. Check your outbox before retrying 32 times. This is just a slow down on the server level over at godaddy.

I'll keep an eye on it. In the meantime, just have patience and confirm your PM by looking in your outbox. This will clear up in a few days.

Thanks all.
